THE CORPORATE JUNGLE
Over the years it has come to our attention that a number of companies are attempting to create various money making ventures and opportunities for themselves by the creation of "awareness campaigns", training programs, and various anti-drink spiking products, some of them quoting facts and figures from our web site. One production company sent out mail shots to companies asking for funding to create a television commercial that was actually produced. In their literature this company quotes figures produced by The Roofie Foundation that we had not yet released! Their letter asking for funding donations also implied they had our support and backing. This was not true. This project, like many others, was done of their own validation without any background research into the subject matter.
We have also noticed the growth of training organisations claiming to offer validated training courses in all aspects of drink spiking and DFSA, from courses on the avoidance of drink spiking, courses for nightclub bouncers, to courses on specialised drug rape counselling, and in the selling of these courses the name of The Roofie Foundation and our information, is being used. Again we have to state publicly that we at the Foundation do not support or validate any of these organisations. If and when we ever do they will be listed on this web site.
We also note that there are many different anti-drink spiking products being tested researched and developed, some have actually reached the market place. These products range from drinks testers, protective devises covering bottles and glasses, drinks holders etc etc. The information these companies work from and use to promote their ideas and products is mostly information they have taken from our web site. As we are still unfunded and publish the information free of charge on our site for the public good, we do openly ask if anyone using this information for their own gain or profit (manufacturers, inventors, newspapers, TV companies etc) pay us a small donation for it's use. Alas very few do - especially companies that chose to make money at the expense of others.
If you are approached by any company, organisation, or individual claiming to work in the area of DFSA and drink spiking who uses facts and figures that could only have come from us, or use our name without our knowledge, please feel free to phone us to confirm their pedigree and expertise first.
